PROBLEM:

To automate a very labor intensive operation of assembling a complete oil filter from its various components, including inspecting after every phase of the process for quality control. Once assembled, the complete oil filter assembly must be inspected to insure that all components are present prior to discharge for pack out into finished goods.

SOLUTION:

Design and fabricate four assembly turrets for the automatic assembly of the various components which make up the oil filter at a rate of 80 per minute.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Provide an inspection station to determine if a gasket is missing, then divert the subassembly, accumulate, and after a preset count, re-circulate back to the assembly station.
Provide additional inspection stations throughout the process for any missing components.
Use of heavy duty pucks as transporting carriers throughout the entire assembly process.

EQUIPMENT FURNISHED:

Four (4) continuous motion assembly turrets each with eight (8) stations.
A closed loop table top conveying system linking all processes together.
Gasket vibratory feed system.
Three (3) inspection/rejection systems.
A re-circulating reassembly loop.
Compression roller assembly.
Safety interlocking guarding system.
